STEREO for the eyes

zweiB, a company offering solutions for events, fairs, digital cinema and media production has successfully tested a setup for interactive live stereoscopic shows.

Using Ventuz as a real time presentation solution, zweiB achieved to force Ventuz to run in a stereoscopic mode putting out images in HD (1920×1080) separately for the left and the right eye. This works with any Ventuz presentation in which objects are arranged on the z-axis. Depth perception and out-of-screen effect can be controlled in real time, which is important as a comfort stereoscopic effect has to be adapted on the projected screen size.

The stereoscopic presentation is projected with a Christie CP-2000, a 2K 3-chip DMD™ DLP projector designed for digital cinema equipped with a 6kW Xenon Lamp providing up to 21,000 ANSI lumens brightness.

The XpanD system connected to the projector syncs the shutter glasses worn by the audience providing the separation of the images for the left and the right eye for enabling the stereoscopic perception.

zweiB also successfully tested this setup for direct-x based games and the system is furthermore capable to blend between stereoscopic sources such as live stereoscopic cameras, stereoscopic films, stills, e.g.

A really interesting one…..
